About Far From Home

Who we are

Far From Home is a small independent planning studio for group travel. We are not a tour operator selling seats on a fixed departure, and we are not a booking site. We design one trip at a time, for one group at a time, from 1 to 100 people, and we stay with it from the first group chat message to the last transfer home.

Why this exists

Big group trips fall apart in predictable places. Nobody agrees on a budget. One person ends up fronting deposits and chasing everyone else for months. The itinerary lives in three different threads and a screenshot. Nightlife and events get planned last, when the tables and tickets are already gone. Far From Home exists because none of that is a taste problem. It is an operations problem, and it can be solved with a real plan, real deadlines and one place where the money is visible to everyone.

How we work

You tell us the destination or the event, the dates, the headcount and the budget. We come back with a costed plan: where the group sleeps, what the days look like, which excursions are worth it, and which nights need a table booked in advance. You approve it, we handle the bookings and reservations, and everyone gets a designed itinerary they can download as a PDF.

Every traveler joins the trip with their own account, answers a short preferences survey, and sees their own share of the cost. The organizer sees who has paid, who has not and what is still outstanding, without running the collection out of a group chat.

What we will not do

We do not publish review scores, trip counts or testimonials we cannot evidence. Where our data on a destination or an event is thin, we say so on the page and link to the source rather than filling the gap with something that reads well. Every trip is 18+.

How we make money

One planning fee, paid to us upfront. Everything else, hotels, villas, excursions, tickets and transport, is paid to the vendor at their rate or split between the group. We do not take a cut of it and we do not mark it up.
