This notice describes the information Far From Home collects and how it is used across trips, crews and the money tab.

What we collect at sign-up
When you create an account we collect your email, your first and last name, your date of birth and your country of residence. A profile photo is optional. We store your date of birth rather than your age so the 18 and over check stays accurate over time, and we use your country of residence for visas, flight windows and pricing.
What we collect as you plan
The profile information you choose to add (username, avatar, bio, home city, passport country, travel vibes), the trips you create or join, your traveler preferences and any dietary, accessibility or emergency details you enter, plus the expenses, shares and payment records logged against those trips.
Who can see it
Your last name is private: it is used for bookings with hotels, villas and vendors and is never shown to your crew or on your public profile. Members of a trip can see the trip's itinerary, crew and money records. Your first name, username, avatar and bio are visible to signed-in users. Sensitive needs are visible only to you and, where you allow it, the trip organizer, and every organizer read is logged.
Payment information
Far From Home does not store card numbers or bank credentials. Payment records hold only the amount, currency, method label and any reference note an organizer types in.
We email trip invitations and account messages. Reminders about outstanding balances appear in the app and are rate limited to once per traveler per day.
Your choices
You can edit or clear every field we collect at sign-up, including your name, date of birth, country of residence and photo, at any time in profile settings. You can also leave a trip or ask us to delete your account. Records of money you owed on a past trip remain visible to that trip's organizers.
