What it actually is

The worlds largest folk festival, held on the Theresienwiese in Munich. Entry is free, the tents are not, and a table reservation booked in spring is the difference between a seat and a very long stand.

Opens the third Saturday of September and runs sixteen days. Entry to the grounds is free; tent tables are reserved months ahead directly with each tent.

    Reserve a tent table

    Tent reservations are made directly with each tent and open in the spring. Without one you are standing, and after 3pm on a weekend you may not get in at all.
