The honest version
Trinidad is the party and the culture; Tobago is where you go to recover. Carnival in the weeks before Lent takes over the whole country and books out a year in advance. Outside that window the islands are quiet, cheap and green, with rainforest, turtle nesting beaches and reef diving off Tobago.

Rain comes in short bursts. Hurricane risk is low but not zero.
Christmas and parang

Parang season and diaspora returns. Flights climb from late November.
